The Tenugui 手拭 is a cotton towel commonly used in Kendo.

Kendo practitioners wear it on the head, before putting on the Bogu Men (helmet) (Kendo armor).
Its size is normalized, and is 9cm x 36cm.

This Tenugui has a design of Hei Jo Shin Calligraphy 平常心.
Hei Jo Shin means "Keep your heart/mind calm in any situation".

This Tenugui is made of 100% cotton.

Our traditional Tenugui are dyed in Chusen Some, a traditional dyeing method from the city of Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture.
This traditional dye, first intended for yukata, has been transmitted since the middle of the 18th century. Artisans considered cultural treasures are still actively working in Hamamatsu.

Available in:White (black characters) and Blue (white characters).
