The Fuchi and the Kashira are with a grainy relief imitating stone (Ishi 石).

This Fuchi Kashira is very sober and classic.
The Ishime rendering, with a grainy appearance, is very widespread in Japan, in lacquers, pottery, steelwork...
We also find this type of texture on matte lacquer scabbards (Kuro Ishime, Cha Ishime), which allows to harmonize and have one of the most sober assemblies.
