More informations about this product

The Furoshiki is a square of fabric, which can be used to wrap various things, for transport, or as a gift.
During the Muromachi era, furoshiki was originally used to pack clothes in public baths (Onsen) and easily recognize them.
Today it can be used to make a chic gift wrap, an improvised picnic basket or a decorative fashion accessory, or, returning to its origin, use it to pack its practical belongings.

The flowers of Sakura 桜, Japanese cherry blossoms, symbolize the ephemeral side of life, and its beauty.
Blooming in March across all of Japan, it announces the arrival of spring.

The spectacular blossoming of Sakura’s flowers is highly appreciated by the Japanese and is part of this "Hanami" period, the contemplation of flowers. Their sudden flowering lasts just two weeks, bringing a sense of dynamism and vitality. The flight of the petals carried by the wind announces the end of this event.
By its short lifespan and the beauty of this phenomenon, the flower of Sakura is also a parallel with the life of the Samurai and Bushi, refined but ephemeral, recalling that existence is short, especially for her warriors whose life could stop abruptly in battle. This image joins a very old aesthetic and spiritual concept in Japan, the 'Mono No Aware', which could be interpreted as 'Empathy towards things' or even 'sensitivity for the ephemeral'.
