Hakama Cotton Indigo 6000
More informations about this product
The Hakama #6000 -藍 染-, is made of 100% Indigo cotton in Bushu-Sho-Aizome (武 州 正 藍 染) (a traditional pre-weaving yarn dyeing process in the Saitama region).
This model, for lovers of tradition and traditional wearing, from intermediate to advanced, allows to practice in a hakama with thick fabric (but finer than the model #10000).
This type of Hakama is the ultimate in elegance for Japanese martial practitioners.
The numbers of the Hakama cotton Indigo at Iwata #6000 and #10,000 refer to the number of strands used for making the fabric. As a result, the #6000 is lighter than its counterpart, the fabric is (slightly) thinner; resistant, suitable for intensive workouts, it requires, like all Hakama Coton, regular maintenance.
The Indigo Cotton used being pure cotton, Iwata advises from ½, to 1 size above what you used to wear polyester when you switch to cotton hakama.
The Indigo Cotton drips naturally, remember to wash separately from the other colors. This gives each Hakama a unique hue. This type of Hakama requires the Indigo color to be dripped before first use.
After washing, the cotton Hakama will shrink. As for the model #6000, Iwata anticipates 7% shrinkage in length and 5% in width. Having taken this shrinkage into account, the Hakama Cotton before washing are larger than the size chart, to match it after shrinkage.
Check your measurements on the size chart.
