A Noren (暖 簾) is a curtain split in its center. It serves as a sign on stores when it is put out, and serves to delimit parts when it is positioned inside.
On this noren is a circle-shaped cat, combining the Neko Cat symbol and the Ensō symbol. e Ensō (円 相), or circle is one of the most famous Zen symbols for martial artists.
This circle can be closed or not. It represents the perfection (or not) of inner peace.
Cat, Neko (猫), mischievous animal, brings happiness, fortune or luck (especially with the Maneki Neko).
This noren also features the Asanoha pattern (麻 の 葉), a geometric pattern of hemp leaf in the shape of 6 diamonds. Hemp has great vitality and grows vigorously without requiring much care. This pattern was often used in Japan for babies and children in the hope that they would grow up and be strong.
