Shinai - Tamari - 3.9 尺 - Meirin

The Shinai Tamari is a Meirin Shinai to Assemble. Tamari (玉 利) stands for "Jewel Advantage".
This Shinai bears the name of the Hanshi TAMARI YOSHIAKI (1903-1985), and has the specs of the Shinai which he himself manufactured (with his permission). Tamari Shihan was known for her Shinai creations.
It is a Kotō Gata (古 刀 型), with exceptional maneuverability thanks to 100% manual craftsmanship.
The Kotō Shinai are almost the exact opposite of the Dobari. Instead of bringing the weight back into the hands, the weight is spread over the entire Shinai with a thin Do and an almost straight profile.
This style is considered more close to the balance of a real sabre and is typically favoured by higher ranks who practice a more refined and less overtly energetic Kendo style.
Suitable for experienced to expert practitioners.
This shinai is made in Madake (真 竹), bamboo native to Japan, in the case of Oita prefecture northeast of Kyūshū (formerly Bungo prefecture).
Madake, is an exclusively Japanese bamboo, which has thick and flexible fibers, making it an ideal material for making Shinai. it is durable with the right maintenance.
