This Kendogi Shiraji Kuro Ito is a training jacket for the practice of Koryu and Kendo.
It is a jacket in 100% cotton ecru, with Sashiko embroidery in black thread creating diamond patterns in the upper part of the jacket, and diamond patterns at the bottom. This style is also called 'Musashi Zashi'.
Made from a classic fabric, it consists of a simple layer of fabric, offering comfort and quick drying.
This type of sashiko jacket began to be used by practitioners in Bujutsu from mid-edo (XVIIIth century), before turning to rice grain jackets dyed in Indigo Aizome.
