The Setta (雪駄) are sandals intended for outdoor use, with their leather sole (革底 -Kawazoko-), and their vinyl base, straw Tatami (黄畳 - Kitatami-).
These thin sandals are often worn in festivals, with Kimono or Yukata; its durable leather sole allows a longer durability.
Sumos, even today, use Settas daily for their outdoor travel.
