More informations about this product

The Hakama #10000, is made of 100% Indigo 藍 染 cotton in Bushu-Sho-Aizome (武 州 正 藍 染) (traditional dyeing process of the threads before weaving in the Saitama region).
This model, for lovers of tradition and traditional wearing, from intermediate to advanced, allows to practice in a thick tissue hakama (heavier than the model #6000).
This type of Hakama is the pinnacle of distinction and upscale in Japanese martial traditions, such as Aikido.
The Hakama cotton Indigo numbers at Iwata #6000 and #10,000 refer to the number of strands used to make the fabric.
As a result, #10,000 is heavier than its counterpart, the fabric is thicker; particularly resistant to friction, it is suitable for intensive workouts, and, like all Hakama Coton, requires regular maintenance.
The Indigo Cotton used being pure cotton, Iwata advises from ½, to 1 size above what you used to wear polyester when you switch to cotton hakama.
Indigo Cotton is a natural drip, wash separately from other colours. This gives each Hakama a unique shade. This type of Hakama requires the Indigo color to be dripped before use.
After washing, the cotton Hakama will shrink. As for the model #10,000, Iwata anticipates 6% shrinkage in length and 5% in width. Having taken this shrinkage into account, the Hakama Cotton before washing are larger than the size chart, to match it after shrinkage.

The basic straps of the Iwata hakama are:
- Total front strap length 400cm
- Total rear strap length 180cm
We invite you to consider this point.
In the module, you have the possibility to make a request for a strap extension if necessary.

Check your measurements on the size chart.
