Traditional weapon of Japanese police and bodyguards during the Edo era.
There are two names, Jutte 十 手 or Jitte 実 手.
Jutte 十 手, with the number 10 cross refers to the hook that blocks the sword blades.
Jitte 実 手, with kanji 実, refers to the values of the people who use it, 'Truth', 'Sincerity', 'Honesty', 'Fidelity'.
Its use in the face of a sword attack requires a very good tachnic level and a lot of assurance. It is also used to knock and made keys. Its historical ancestor is the Kabuto Wari, used during the Muromachi period, period of wars in armor, between 1336 and 1573.
