Sai 釵 in chromed reinforced Zamak (sold in pairs).

This product, manufactured by our Iaito supplier, is in the same alloy as the iaito blades, in chrome Zamak.
The Zamak is an alloy of Zinc and Aluminum essentially. It is a non-ferrous metal. It is reinforced and heavier than for a Iaito. Although not made for contact, it will resist a possible shock, but chromium may flake.
These Sai are perfectly balanced and have an excellent grip thanks to the cotton braiding of the handle.
Historically, Sai were agricultural and fishing tools used on the islands of Okinawa. Their use in combat is close to Jutte and Tonfa, so you can block blades but also protect themselves by turning them to tackle the forearms.
