Kawari Gata (変り形, Irregular) shape tsuba. Design by Musashino (武蔵野), Akasaka (赤坂), in Sukashi (透), opening. Maru Mimi round border, without Kozuka and Kogai Ana.
This is a reproduction of a Tsuba made by the 1er master Tadamasa ,of the school Akasaka (赤坂), style known to create Tsubas in Sukashi and which is located in Tokyo.
In this design Musashino (武蔵野) is a pattern in which the moon is placed in a field covered with autumn herbs from which dew drops.
Musashino is located in the western part of the Kanto plain where there are no high hills. So it is said that "the moon rises from the grass and sets in the grass", which is used as a lyrical motif with a feeling of melancholy.
