The Saya 鞘 is a sword sheath, here for the Bokuto (wooden swords).
This PVC Saya model is an ideal accessory to start Iaïdo, and to simulate the practice with a scabbard without having to invest on a iaito.
The Saya only fit on "classic" bokuto, with tsuba demarcation.
The Kurigata is 12cm from the Koiguchi because it is possible to cut and reduce the saya to fit on children Bokuto.
The Saya made in Japan have the characteristic of being much more durable, rigid and resistant, than the 'low cost' productions.
The model of our supplier Sakuraya has a triangular Mune (back).
