Mame Shibori (豆絞り) is a traditional Japanese pattern characterized by small dots evenly spaced apart, so named because they resemble tiny beans (Mame - 豆). Widely used by ordinary people since the Edo period, it is popular in summer festivals, dances and as festival headbands.
