Shinai - Meirin - 3.6尺 - 3.7尺 - Meirin
The Shinai Meirin is a Shinai to Assemble from the Meirin brand. Meirin (明倫) meaning "Companion of Light", it is the very emblem of the Meirin Society, it is a Shinai that they themselves have developed.
It is a Standard Shinai, or Tsūjōgata (通 常 型), is an evolution of the older form of Jissen Gata (real combat), with the weight that is slightly lowered towards the handle (Tsuka), and the Do, the Shinai’s body, slightly thickened.
The Shinai Standard is therefore balanced and optimized for practice and competition, of which they are the standard.
The standard Shinai is the perfect compromise between speed, power and flexibility.
Suitable for beginners and advanced, and recommended for competitions.
This shinai is made of superior Keichiku (桂 竹), bamboo mainly from Taiwan, of the highest possible production.
Keichiku, worked in Japan, was chosen because close to the Japanese Madake, with fine and dense fibers. It is often mechanically treated to remove moisture, making it slightly more brittle compared to Madake.
