Shinai - Tō Kon Bessaku - 3,7尺 to 3,9尺 - Meirin

The Shinai Tō Kon Bessaku is a Meirin Shinai to Assemble. Tō Kon Bessaku (刀 魂 別 作) meaning "Sword Soul Special Production".
It is an 8-faceted Koban Gata (八 角 小 判 型), with exceptional handling thanks to 100% manual craftsmanship.
The word Koban refers to the oval-shaped gold coins historically used in Japan and, by extension, to the oval shape, which is the shape of this Tsuka (handle).
There are two types of Kobangata Shinai: an oval handle for the left hand, where only the position of the back hand is oval and the right is almost perfectly round, and an oval handle for the right hand, where both positions of the hand are oval, which is the case with Tō Kon Bessaku.
Shinai with oval handles give a tactile feedback on the orientation of the sharp axis (Ha) / back edge (Mune) and are often preferred by Kendoka who also practice other traditional sword arts, because they are closer to the shape of a real sword handle.
Suitable for beginners and experienced.

This shinai is made of Madake (真 竹), bamboo native to Japan, in this case a special endemic variety for this Shinai.
