Shinai - Shippū - 3,7尺 to 3,9尺 - Meirin

The Shinai Shippū is a Shinai to Assemble from the Meirin brand. Shippū (疾風) meaning "Strong/Fast Wind".
The Shippū is both a Jissen Gata for the general form and a Koban Gata for its Tsuka (handle).
It is a Shinai Jissen Gata (実戦型), with exceptional handling thanks to 100% manual craftsmanship.
The Jissen Gata, which means "Real Combat". The C is wider than a Shinai Standard, but not as thick as a Dobari.
Designed for competition, this Shinai Jissengata has a thinner tip (Kissaki) than a standard Shinai.
Its center of gravity and transferred to the Tsuka (handle), making it easier to handle while giving an impression of lightness. Shinai maneuverable and lightweight with a weight distribution that gives a tangible feedback of the tip position.
This model is more suitable for experienced or experienced practitioners looking to work precision, speed or "Koteuchi".

The Shippū is also a Koban Gata (小判型).
The word Koban refers to the oval-shaped gold coins historically used in Japan and, by extension, to the oval shape, which is the shape of this Tsuka (handle).
There are two types of Kobangata Shinai: an oval handle for the left hand, where only the position of the back hand is oval and the right is almost perfectly round, and an oval handle for the right hand, where both positions of the hand are oval.
Shinai with oval handles give a tactile feedback on the orientation of the sharp axis (Ha) / back edge (Mune) and are often preferred by Kendoka who also practice other traditional sword arts, because they are closer to the shape of a real sword handle.
Suitable for beginners and experienced.
This shinai is made of superior Keichiku (桂竹), bamboo mainly from Taiwan, of the highest possible production.
Keichiku, worked in Japan, was chosen because close to the Japanese Madake, with fine and dense fibers. It is often mechanically treated to remove moisture, making it slightly more brittle compared to Madake.
