This Fuchi/Kashira is patterned with a praying monk.
- Material: Copper, Ibushi silver plated finish
- Fuchi (縁) Dimensions: 40.5 mm long, 24 mm wide, 13.5 mm high
- Kashira Dimensions (頭): 35.5 mm length, 18 mm width, 11 mm height
The Sōten (宗 典) school was in Hikone province, near Sekigahara, in Mino province.
The favourite subjects are taken from Chinese history and legends, or depict scenes of Japanese battles, including 12th-century Gempei campaigns.
Here we find the monks meditating under a pine tree, or in a cave.
